Tasker — Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Tasker is published by PurvaKalpa Studios (”we”, “us”, “our”). Tasker is built so your data stays yours. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
The short version
We have no server and collect no data. There is no Tasker account, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising.
Your tasks live on your device, and — only if you turn on iCloud sync — in your own iCloud (Apple’s CloudKit private database tied to your Apple ID). We cannot see or access it.
Note text is end-to-end encrypted with a key stored in your iCloud Keychain, so even within your iCloud it is unreadable to anyone but you.
What Tasker stores
The tasks, lists, projects, board columns, routines, and settings you create.
Optional per-task data you add: due/defer dates, estimates, notes, attachments, and location triggers.
All of this is stored locally by default. If you enable iCloud sync (Settings → Privacy & sync), it is also stored in your iCloud private database so it syncs across your devices.
What Tasker does NOT do
No accounts, sign-ups, or logins to us.
No analytics, telemetry, advertising, or third-party SDKs that collect data.
No selling or sharing of data — there is nothing to sell or share.
iCloud sync
When enabled, sync uses Apple’s CloudKit private database for your Apple ID. Apple encrypts this data in transit and at rest; access is limited to your Apple ID. Apple’s handling is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. Tasker runs no backend of its own.
Encryption
Task note contents are additionally encrypted on-device with AES-GCM (256-bit) before being stored or synced. The encryption key is generated on your device and stored in your Keychain, syncing to your other devices via iCloud Keychain (end-to-end encrypted by Apple). The key never leaves your devices and is never sent to us.
Permissions
Notifications — to remind you when tasks are due. Requested only when you set a reminder or enable it in Settings.
Location — only if you add a location trigger to a task, so Tasker can remind you when you arrive at or leave a place. Used for geofencing only; no continuous tracking and no location data leaves your device.
Data deletion
Delete a task, or use Settings → Reset sample data, to remove data on-device. Disabling iCloud sync and signing out of iCloud removes the synced copy from your account per Apple’s controls.
Children
Tasker is a general-purpose productivity app and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected in the app or on this page.
